Winter Weather Advisory Posted For Aroostook County
The roller coaster weather pattern continues across northern Maine with snow, sleet and freezing rain Wednesday followed by rain and unseasonably warm temperatures.
After the temperature dropped well below 0°F early Tuesday morning across Aroostook County, forecasters say it should hit 50° by Thursday afternoon.
The National Weather Service office in Caribou has issued a Winter Weather advisory until mid-morning Thursday. Snow throughout the day Wednesday is expected to mix with then change to freezing rain by evening. Snowfall totals could range from 2-5 inches across the region with 1/4 of an inch ice buildup possible.
The wintry mix should change over to rain early Thursday morning with winds picking up and temperatures climbing throughout the day, resulting is a rapid melt and possible localized flooding.
