Star Trek star and iconic actor William Shatner recently shared the news that he has inked a record deal with a country music label. Now, as part of that project, he's teasing a major collaboration.

Shatner has posted a short clip to YouTube, teasing that he has some great material on the way. However, he hasn't revealed the big name with whom he is collaborating.

"Country music -- I love it!" Shatner says at the beginning of the video, posted by his new record label, Heartland Records Nashville. "I've got friends in the country music industry. I want to do country music, and I'm going to do country music with an icon. I can't tell you who it is right now, but it's going to be so much fun."

The actor-turned-musician goes on to talk about all of the people in Music City who he is excited to work with, and how impressed he is with the process so far.

"I've got the songs. They write songs like people write poetry; it's really incredible what these artists who write country music can do!" Shatner says. "I've got some great songs that I want to do, and I'm going to do them very soon with somebody you love. I'll talk to you later."

Heartland Records Nashville announced Shatner's signing in a press release in mid-February. Shatner's upcoming project will not be his first foray into recording albums: His most recent release, Ponder the Mystery, was released on Cleopatra Records in 2013 and featured a collaboration with Vince Gill.
