For the second straight night, UMaine hockey scored the first goal of the night and then gave powerplay goals. And, for the second straight night, the Bears got beat by UNH, this time 4-3.

Maine's rob Michel got the Black Bears on the board 13 minutes into the game.

But then two UNH powerplay goals in the next seven minutes and another one in the second period gave the Wildcats a 3-1 lead.

After the teams swapped third period goals, Chase Pearson scored for Maine with 25 seconds left but it was too little, too late.

Rob McGovern made 25 saves for the Bears. Danny Tirone made 38 for the Wildcats.

The loss drops UMaine to the botton of Hockey East with a 1-6-1 record (5-9-3 overall).

UNH is now 5-1-1 HE and 8-6-2 overall.
