Check out this trailer for Holly Star! It's a new film about something wacky that goes down in the Biddeford/Saco area at the holidays, involving a drunk Santa, unemployment, a bag of money, and a quest for treasure.

...This looks AWESOME!

According to a profile of the film in the Portland Press Herald back in 2016, the film "...is a Christmas comedy focusing on an aspiring puppeteer who loses her job in New York City and returns to her home in a small town in southern Maine. The plot involves her search for a sack full of money she believes her grandfather buried somewhere in town years ago while he was dressed as Santa Claus."

You can even recognize parts of the Biddeford and Saco communities on film in the trailer, like the Chamber of Commerce on Water Street and a few scenes on lower Main Street and in the Mechanics Park area too.

"Holly Star" is an independent Maine Christmas comedy, directed by Michael A. Nickles and starring Katlyn Carlson, Brian Muller, and Teya Patt. Filming started in 2016 in Biddeford, and scenes were also shot in Saco, Kennebunkport and Portland. Catch the movie on digital release and on demand starting December 4th.
