A 68-year-old Washburn man died in an ATV crash in Wade after losing control of his vehicle. The accident was reported Saturday morning, but the exact time of the crash is under investigation, said the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office.

Sterling Levesque from Washburn was going west on New Dunntown Road when he lost control of his 2015 CF Moto UTV. He went off the road, struck a tree, was ejected from the ATV, and did not survive, said the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office. Levesque was not wearing a helmet.

Sheriff Darrell O. Crandall said the exact time of the crash is not known as Levesque had not been seen since Thursday night. Officials are investigating the cause of the crash and his death. The accident was reported at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

Deputy Clark from the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Deputy Sheriff Sgt. Matt Cummings, Warden Ryan Fitzpatrick, State Police Sgt. Jeff Clark and Trooper Andrew Levesque, as well as Crown Ambulance Service. The Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is also involved with the case. Our condolences go out to the victim's family and friends, said Sheriff Crandall.
