Washburn Duo of Worcester, Overman Commit To Husson University

Washburn High School's Mackenzie Worcester and Joan Overman will take their basketball skills to Husson University in Bangor in the fall.

The two standouts were part of four consecutive state championships in their careers including the record setting fifth straight title for the school back in February.

The 5-foot-5 guard Worcester scored her 2,000th career point in that state game. Her older brother, Mitch, plays for the Husson men's basketball program.

Overman is a versatile and athletic 5-foot-8 player who joined Worcester on the All Tourney team.

WAGM-TV sports director Rene Cloukey in Presque Isle was first to report the Washburn players had committed to Husson.
