The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Wallagrass man with Domestic Violence Assault and Terrorizing in connection with an incident last week.

Sergeant Erica Pelletier responded to a 911 call on Thursday from a woman in Wallagrass who report an assault.

The Sheriff's Office public safety dispatcher informed Sgt. Pelletier that the situation appeared to be escalating and that they could hear the woman telling a man to stop.

Police say 37-year-old Matthew Crisp was taken into custody at the home and transported to Northern Maine Medical Center with cuts to his hands from smashing glass bottles.

Once medically cleared, Crisp was charged with Domestic Violence Assault and Domestic Violence Terrorizing.

Crisp remains at the Aroostook County Jail and is scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday.

The victim, who will not be identified, was not seriously injured.
