Country music has included many talented vocal duos throughout the years: the Everly Brothers, the Stanley Brothers and Johnnie & Jack, to name a few. Fast forward several decades to the 2017 ACM Awards, and there's a mix of great duos up for Vocal Duo of the Year.

Big & Rich, made up of Big Kenny and John Rich, completed their 2016 summer tour in August, in promotion of their latest record, Gravity, which has given them back-to-back hit singles, “Look at You” and “Run Away With You." During the tour, they stopped at the 2016 Taste of Country Music Festival and Country Jam 2016; in January, they performed at inauguration-related events. This is the eighth time that the duo has been nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year, and they haven't won yet. Could this be their year?

The Brothers Osborne are enjoying a growing country career that, recently, has included a nomination for Best Country Duo / Group  Performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards and a win at the 2016 CMA Awards. Their debut album, Pawn Shopand songs such as "Stay a Little Longer" and "It Ain't My Fault" have helped them gain a larger fan base (their first-ever headlining tour was also a factor).

Dan + Shay captured plenty of hearts with their single "From the Ground Up," which hit No. 1, and they followed it up with the single "How Not To," both from their sophomore record, Obsessed. The duo launched their 2016 Obsessed Tour and had so much fun out on the road that they expanded it into 2017. Dan + Shay recently released a music video for "When I Pray for You," written for the film The Shack's soundtrack.

Reigning ACM Vocal Duo of the Year Florida Georgia Line, made up of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, are the ones to beat in 2017. Their newest albumDig Your Roots, includes hit singles "H.O.L.Y.," and "May We All," the latter of which they performed with Tim McGraw at the 2016 CMA Awards. FGL extended their Dig Your Roots Tour into 2017, and they recently announced the Smooth Tour 2017, on which they'll be bringing along Nelly and Chris Lane.

With songs such as "Girl in a Country Song," "Shut Up and Fish" and "Sierra," Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye of Maddie & Tae have proven themselves to be two talented singer-songwriters. They won two awards at the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards, and they are the only all-female pair (and only women, period) nominated for ACM Vocal Duo of the Year in 2017. Fans are eagerly awaiting their sophomore record.
