The RCMP is seeking the public's help in identifying whoever is responsible for vandalism to a piece of heavy equipment this week in Northeast New Brunswick.

Police say the vandalism occurred sometime between Wednesday evening and early Thursday at a gravel pit in Rivière-à-la-Truite, just west of Tracadie-Sheila.

The windshield of a Hyundai wheel loader parked in the gravel pit was damaged, according to Sgt. Marc Beaupré of the Tracadie-Sheila Detachment.  One or more suspects apparently smashed the windshield with a piece of metal that was found at the scene.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the RCMP at 506-393-3000 or you can provide the information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at www.crimenb.ca or 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

If your information leads to an arrest, you could qualify for a cash award of up to $2,000.
