Aroostook County Sheriff’s Deputies have charged 31-year-old Justin Martin, of Van Buren, with Class C Theft for stealing money from the Van Buren Tulsa, where he had been an employee until September of 2014.

Deputies allege that Martin, of Van Buren, stole several thousand dollars from the business by removing cash from the cash register and change safe over a period of several years.

While the crime took place in Van Buren, the Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation for the Van Buren Police Department because Martin is a member of the Van Buren Board of Selectmen.

Martin was arrested on Monday, September 29th and posted bail. He will make an initial appearance in Caribou Superior Court on December 16th. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.
