In the early morning hours of November 11, 1976, a passing motorist noticed that a house on Route 117 in South Bridgton was engulfed in flames. The house was destroyed and inside investigators discovered the body of 91-year-old Raoul Schwartz. 

Raoul lived alone in the home.

Maine State Police and Fire Marshall's investigators determined the blaze was intentionally set and Raoul’s death was ruled a homicide.

On the 40th anniversary of his death, police are reminder Mainers the case is still open.
