The UMaine women posted their 20th win of the season with a 73-46 win on the road at UMass Lowell while the men dropped an overtime decision to the Riverhawks 108-95.

Sigi Koizar led Maine with a career high 32 points as the Bears outscored Lowell in each quarter to improve to 20-7 on the season and 11-1 in America East play. Koizar also added 5 assists and 5 rebounds.

Other double digit scorers for Maine included Sophie Weckstrom who poured in 11 points and Mikaela Gustafsson who put in 10 points.

The Bears will next battle Albany when they host the first place Great Danes on Sunday.


The UMaine men struggled once again on the defensive end of the floor as they allowed the Riverhawks to shoot 57% from the 3-point line and 70% from the field in the first half. The Bears mounted a comeback in the second half to force overtime before running out of gas and taking their 17th loss of the season.

The Bears who played without guard Kevin Little who sat with an injury got 19 points form Aaron Calixte in the loss.
