The New Hampshire Wildcats continue to have the upper hand against the UMaine hockey team as they beat the Bears 5-4 in a non-conference game Tuesday night.Maine's winless streak now stands at 3 games with tie and 2 losses against the Wildcats. Tuesdays game which was played in Portland was part of a home and home series that continues tonight in Manchester.

The Bears dug an early hole as the Wildcats scored three of the first four gals and took a 3-2 lead into the final period of play.

Will Merchant's second goal of the game in the third period cut the lead to one but the Cats struck back just over a minute later with a power play goal to regain the 2-goal advantage.

Dan Ranouf scored for Maine late in the period but could not get any closer and fall to 4-9-4 on the season.
