Three weeks into the season and the University of Maine football team will finally get to play at home as they host Rhode Island in the CAA opener.The Black Bears come into the game looking for their first win of the season after playing two games against FBS teams in Boston College and Tulane.The Bears are 7-3 in the their last 10 home openers.

This will be the 94th meeting between the two teams with Maine leading the all-time series 56-34-3. Maine has won the last 8 games against the Rams and 13 of their 14.

The Bears will try to get the ground game in gear that has struggled through the first two games getting out gained by their opponents 501-172. Starting running back Niger Beckford missed the first game of the season while he served a suspension. Last week against Tulane he rushed for 58 yards on 13 carries.

Note: Prior to the game a brand new Bananas T. Bear will debut. The new UMaine mascot has undergone a full makeover and will make his first appearance at today's game.
