The Maine Black Bears scored their first America East Conference win Saturday afternoon in comeback fashion, a 68-57 win at Hartford.

The Bears trailed the Hawks at the half 35-28 but then outscored Hartford 40-22 in the second half.

The win evens Maine's AE record at 1-1 (9-6 overall). Hartford is 2-1, 8-9.

Sophie Weckstrom led the Bears in scoring with a career high 21 points. Sigi Koizar added 17.

 

 

Meanwhile, the UMaine men's basketball team lost at Binghamton 65-46. The Bears fall to 1-14 overall, 0-3 AE.

Coach Bob Walsh and his Bears led 30-29 at halftime but got outscored by 20 points in the second half.

Till Gloger was Maine's leading scorer with 16.

Binghamton won for just the second time of the season. The Bearcats are 2-16 and 1-2 AE.
