UMaine women's basketball got a three-pointer from freshman Christiana Gerostergiou with 1.7 left in regulation to beat William&Mary 54-51.

The win puts the Bears at 8-4. That's the most non-conference wins since 1993. Next for UMaine is the start of America East conference play against Albany January 3rd.

The Bears were led in scoring by Sigi Koizar with 15 points. Liz Wood and Anna Heise were double digit scorers.

On the men's side, a heartbreaking loss for UMaine, a 72-69 overtime loss at Army. The Black Bears drop to 1-9.

Maine and Army were tied 29-29 at the half. Both teams scored 31 points in the second half to stay tied after regulation 60-60. But Army outscored the Bears 12-9 in OT.

Zarko Valjarevic led Maine with 22 points. Aaron Calixte had 11, Till Gloger scored 10.

Tanner Plomb led (8-2)Army with 20 points and 13 rebounds.
