Two men have been charged in connection with a hit and run involving four pedestrians that took place on Champlain Street in Dieppe, N.B., late in 2016.

On December 21, 2016, the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report that four men had been the victims of a hit and run, when an SUV jumped the curb while they were walking on the sidewalk. All four were transported to hospital with varying injuries. They have all since been released from hospital.

A 27-year-old Dieppe woman was arrested in connection with this incident on December 21, 2016, shortly after it occurred. She was subsequently released, and is scheduled to appear in Moncton provincial court in March 2017.

Following further investigation, three men were also arrested, between January 4 and January 6, 2017, and two are now facing charges.

Twenty-three-year-old Chase St. Pierre of Moncton appeared in court on January 6, 2017, facing a charge of aggravated assault. He is scheduled to appear in court again on January 13, 2017, for a bail hearing.

Twenty-four-year-old Mitchell LeBlanc of Moncton was also charged with aggravated assault. He will appear in court on January 27, 2017, to enter a plea.

A 47-year-old Moncton man was also arrested and released, and is scheduled to appear in court in March 2017.

The investigation remains ongoing.
