Two Men Arrested After RCMP Seize Over 113,000 Illegal Cigarettes

The New Brunswick RCMP Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit seized 113,000 illegal cigarettes Friday morning after a traffic stop in Saint-Jacques, N.B.

Two Kitchener, Ontario men were arrested. A 26-year-old man and a 45-year-old man were taken into custody on Route 2 around 10 AM. Their names have not been released. They will appear in Edmundston Provincial Court on February 27, 2018. The two men have been released under their own recognizance.

The contraband cigarettes were seized after a search of the vehicle, said the RCMP. The investigation continues.
