Neguac RCMP responded to the crash shortly after 10:35 p.m., approximately five kilometres north of La Bonne Route Restaurant, according to Cpl. Guy Paul Larocque.

The driver of one vehicle, a 58-year-old man from Moncton, and a passenger, a 43-year-old man from Moncton, were killed in the collision.  Another passenger, a 24-year-old woman from Dieppe, was injured and taken to hospital.

The driver of other vehicle, a 47-year-old man from the Bouctouche area, was also injured and taken to hospital.

The highway was closed until early Wednesday morning and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist was called to assist with the investigation.  The initial investigation suggests speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash. Police say the road was clear at the time.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time to allow proper notification of their families.
