Two Injured in Serious Crash in Northwestern New Brunswick
Police are investigating a head-on collision between a passenger van and a semi-trailer truck on Highway 17 just a few miles from Saint-Léonard, New Brunswick.
The RCMP said that shortly before 2:00 Monday afternoon, the driver of a van veered into the oncoming lane for an unknown reason and rammed into a semi-trailer truck that was hauling wood.
The woman was taken to the hospital with hip injuries and a concussion, according to a report by CIMT-TV. Her injuries were serious, but not considered to be life-threatening. The truck driver suffered minor injuries.
An accident reconstructionist was dispatched to the scene. A section of Highway 17 between Saint-Léonard and Saint-Quentin was closed to traffic for several hours and reopened shortly after 7 o'clock Monday evening.
Roads were snow covered at the time. The investigation continues.
