The Atlanta Falcons are heading to the 2017 Super Bowl and Georgia native Travis Tritt is ready to cheer on his hometown with the song he wrote dedicated to the team, "Falcons Fever."

The Falcons are set to play the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl game on Sunday (Feb. 5), and Tritt is celebrating the momentous occasion with the track he wrote for the team called "Falcons Fever." "Growing up in Marietta, Ga., I have been a lifelong Falcons fan,” Tritt says in a press release. “Obviously, I am thrilled that my home team is going to the Super Bowl this year. I have a severe case of ‘Falcons Fever’ and I will be cheering them on in Houston on Feb. 5.”

After receiving a request to write a song for the Atlanta sports team, Tritt wrote "Falcons Fever" in 2004, becoming the team's signature anthem and theme song that is often played during home games at Georgia Dome, in addition to victorious plays on the field. Tritt himself has even sung the track during a Falcons halftime show.

The Falcons advanced to Super Bowl LI after defeating the Green Bay Packers on Sunday (Jan. 22) at a home game in Atlanta. They will face off against the Patriots at the NGR Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Tritt released his new live CD and DVD, A Man and His Guitar – Live From The Franklin Theatre, in late 2016. The project documents his live acoustic show at The Factory at Franklin just outside of Nashville, Tenn. where he performs several of his chart-topping hits, in addition to a variety of cover songs.
