West District RCMP along with the Fredericton Police Force, set up a checkpoint on Highway 104, near Crabbe Mountain, this past Saturday and issued 34 tickets and eight warnings to drivers on that stretch of highway. Tickets and warnings were issued to motorists for several violations including speeding, no seat-belts, expired vehicle registration and inspection certificates as well as expired driver's licenses.

Sgt. Doug Comfort of the West District RCMP said, "It is important that drivers put safety first at all times and keep their paperwork up-to-date. A collision can happen in an instant and respecting the rules of the road is the best way to lower the risk."

Anyone who witnesses aggressive or unsafe driving in their area is asked to report it to their local police.
