The truck driver, 50-year-old Ward Bond of Corinna, pulled over at mile marker 56 around 9:40 a.m. No one was injured and there was no spillage of the truck’s contents, according to spokesman Steve McCausland.

Traffic on the turnpike was disrupted for some time in both the north and southbound lanes.

Troopers believe a wheel bearing on the trailer overheated and started the fire. No charges are expected.
