Tributes to the late Merle Haggard have been pouring onto the internet following the country icon's death on Wednesday (April 6), his 79th birthday. Tim McGraw's tribute, however, is one of the most raucous.

On Wednesday evening, McGraw posted to Facebook a video of himself and his band performing Haggard's "Workin' Man Blues." Multiple guitarists and bassists, a percussionist, a pianist and a harmonica player contribute the song's upbeat, bluesy melody while McGraw, seated on the back of a couch, sings the iconic lyrics: "Well, I keep my nose on the grindstone, I work hard every day / I might get a little tired on the weekend, after I draw my pay / But I'll go back workin' / Come Monday morning, I'm right back with the crew / I'll drink a little beer that evening / Sing a little bit of these workin' man blues."

"Workin' Man Blues," Haggard’s tribute to — you guessed it — the blue-collar working man, was released as a single in the summer of 1969 and hit No. 1. The song is a superb example of the “Bakersfield sound” that he helped popularize, and its message has endured with country music fans.

"Merle Haggard. The man, the songs, the voice, the attitude -- Iconic," McGraw wrote on Twitter after news of Haggard's passing broke. As of Saturday (April 9), visitors to the country star's website will also see a short tribute to the legend.

Haggard's funeral is set for Saturday (April 9) on his property in Palo Cedro, Calif. The country icon pre-planned the ceremony and asked that Marty Stuart, Connie SmithKris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson all attend and perform.
