Woodstock RCMP responded to a report at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday, about suspicious activity at a home on Oakland Road in Oakland, according to Cpl. Jonathan Holmes.

Three people fled to a nearby wooded area, one carrying a long-barreled firearm, Holmes said. Police set up a perimeter and the RCMP’s Police Dog Services were dispatched to the area. The three suspects were arrested without incident at around 7 p.m.

The RCMP investigation determined that the home was unoccupied at the time, and that extensive damage was done inside.

The three men appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court on Wednesday. Nineteen-year-old Christopher Patrick McIsaac, 21-year-old Perry Fitzherbert, and 25-year-old Jeret Everett, all of Centreville, have each been charged with breaking and entering into a dwelling house and causing mischief.

They were all released on conditions and will return to court on July 12.

The investigation is ongoing.
