Thousands Still Without Power Saturday in Maine & New Brunswick
Nearly one week after an ice storm began to overspread the region, 15 thousand homes in Maine and New Brunswick are waiting for power to be restored.
An army of utility crews have been tackling the damage around the clock to bring all affected homes back to service as soon as possible. As of noontime Saturday, about 4500 homes in Maine and 11,500 in New Brunswick were still without electricity.
With another winter storm bearing down on the region Sunday, utility crews on both sides of the border are working as quickly as they can.
Emergency officials in Hancock County, Maine say they will keep shelters and warming centers open as long as needed.
