Thomas Rhett will perform the halftime show at the Nov. 23 Thanksgiving Day NFL game, when the Dallas Cowboys will take on the Los Angeles Chargers. A 35-second clip announcing the show finds Rhett in the backyard, thinking to himself.

"Man, I love fall," Rhett ponders. "I love everything about it. The leaves, the temperature change, pumpkin everything. Most of all, I love Thanksgiving. I love being with my family, my friends, all the food. I love watching the Dallas Cowboys halftime performance. You know, I wonder who it will be this year? It's always somebody awesome. I guess we'll find out Thanksgiving Day on CBS."

That "awesome entertainer" is Rhett in 2017 — he'll be live from AT&T Stadium during the nationally-televised mid-game performance. The annual event also marks the kickoff of the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign, which helps provide shelter and meals for the homeless and the hungry, as well as Christmas toys for children in need.

“Watching the Cowboys game is such a tradition on Thanksgiving Day,” Rhett says in a press release. “It’s all about being together with family and friends, but this year is going to be a little different for us. I’m pumped that we get to pack up the whole family to go to Dallas for the halftime show…it’s going to be blast and helping do it for a good cause makes it even better."

Tune into CBS on Nov. 23 to watch Rhett perform.
