As the UMaine women's basketball team plays in ACC country tonight in a rematch game from a year ago, Black Bear senior guard Sigi Koizar has been name a finalist for the national award called the 'Good Works Team', honoring student athletes for community service and leadership.

Koizar is the only America East Conference representative out of the 97 finalists around the country.

She has scored 1,330 career points while maintaining a 3.96 GPA in biology. She has been involved in many community service events.

The Allstate/WBCA 'Good Works Team' winners will be recognized during the Final Four.

NOTE: Maine Maritime Academy junior guard, Brendan Newcomb (Brewer HS) is also a finalist for the 'Good Works Team'. He joins 180 men's basketball players from around the nation to be nominated.
