The tale of two NBA coaches from Maine...Charlotte coach Steve Clifford has his Hornets off to their best start in franchise history. Philadelphia's Brett Brown's 76ers are winless, again.

Monday night, Clifford's team beat Indiana to go 6-1 and no Charlotte has been better at this point in the season. And, only the Cleveland Cavs have a better record in the NBA right now.

The one loss is to the Boston Celtics.

Clifford is a former UMaine Farmington player under coach Len McPhee and took his first coaching job at Woodland HS. He's been the head coach for Michael Jordan's team for four seasons.

Meanwhile, in Philly, former South Portland Red Riot Brett Brown's team is 0-6 after a Monday night loss to Utah. The 76ers are in a fourth season of rebuilding with young draft picks. Injuries to some of those draft picks have stunted the team growth.
