The Harasymiak Era Begins
The youngest head coach in Division I football had his team on the field for the first time Thursday afternoon. UMaine's Joe Harasymiak, at 29-years-old, is running his first spring practice as the head guy.
Harasymiak takes over from longtime coach Jack Cosgrove.
Thursday's practice was the first of 15 practice sessions the Black Bears will have now through the Jeff Cole Scrimmage on May 7th.
Harasymiak was Maine's defensive coordinator before the promotion. That means a new defensive coordinator - Corey Hetherman is moving up from his defensive line job. And, Liam Coen comes in from UMass to take that job.
The Black Bears play their season opener September 1st at UConn.
