The Eagles will return to the road this fall with Vince Gill. The country singer joins the band's lineup again with Deacon Frey, the son of the late Glenn Frey, after playing two shows with the group earlier this year.

The band recently announced four new fall dates on which Gill and Frey will share vocal duties following the death of the elder Frey last year. Fans hoping to catch the band on the road will have to wait until October, when the Eagles will trek through North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky and Michigan. According to Rolling Stone, the Eagles will make similar mini treks in the future.

"We’ve got some new blood. We all know the songs pretty good, but we just have to run the drill," Joe Walsh explains about the shows following Glenn Frey's death in 2016. "It’s like being an athlete and doing the reps to get into shape. The new guys have to get to the point where it’s automatic or it’s transparent."

Previously, the Eagles hit the stage at the Classic West Festival on July 15. They followed that up with the Classic East Festival in New York City on July 29 to show off their new additions, with Deacon Frey singing lead on "Take It Easy" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling," while Gill took over "Take It to the Limit,” “Tequila Sunrise,” “Lyin’ Eyes” and “New Kid in Town.”

Gill scored his first hit with “Let Me Love You Tonight” in 1980 as the lead singer in Pure Prairie League, a group that shared a similar musical path with the Eagles. He later covered “I Can’t Tell You Why” for Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles in 1993, and lent his voice to a track on Don Henley‘s most recent solo album, Cass County.

"In my mind, I always thought I’d have made a good Eagle," Gill tells the Los Angeles Times. "But in a million years, I never would have seen this coming. It’s pretty surreal. I turned 60 recently, and to get to be a part of this amazing legacy of songs, that’s the greatest part of all this for me."
