It's getting down to the wire now, as the opening ceremonies for the 2014 IBU World Youth / Junior Biathlon Championships will be held Thursday evening in Presque Isle.

Volunteers and event organizers were hustling and bustling today on the heals of the event. Everyone who is involved in the upcoming biathlon must be accredited in order to gain access to certain areas of the venue, that includes volunteers, members of the media, etc.

So today, Chris O'Brien and I went up to The University of Maine at Presque Isle and went through the process to be accredited. Thank you to the volunteers and staff for making that process as painless and quick as possible. We have also been through the process before, so we were in and out within 5 minutes!

Volunteers were also on hand today for other biathlon volunteers who came to the college to pick up their spiffy new biathlon jackets for the event. If you see red or white coats at the biathlon, you should thank them, as they have put in many hours of their time to make this event possible.
