Kelly Lang is asking for prayers for her husband, TG Sheppard, after he was hospitalized during a battle with pneumonia.

The singer posted to Facebook on Tuesday, (Dec. 20), writing, "If you don't mind, say a little prayer for my sweet husband. He was checked into Vanderbilt hospital with pneumonia. I'm sure he's in great hands but I want him home."

The 72-year-old "Devil in a Bottle" has been hospitalized repeatedly in recent years. In 2012 he was placed in a critical care unit after suffering a bladder infection that caused his heart rate to skyrocket, and Lang kept fans apprised of his condition, asking for their prayers for the country legend over and over. After the worst had passed, she revealed Sheppard' illness had been more serious than fans realized.

Country Stars Who Have Suffered Tragedy

"I hesitate to share this now, but I do want you to know how serious T.G’s condition has been,” Lang revealed. "The bladder infection had spread into his bloodstream and is very hard to treat. That being said, it is the reason for his still being in the Critical Care Unit. I feel that he is getting better, but certainly not great."

In 2015 Sheppard was hospitalized to undergo surgery to correct an irregular heart rhythm.

The veteran entertainer scored a huge string of hits in the 1970s and '80s, including "Slow Burn" and most recently, "You Still Do" in 1988. He still performs regularly, often accompanied by Lang, who is a notable singer-songwriter in her own right.
