'Take Flight' will spread its wings Saturday, October 5th, 2013 between 10:00am and 2:00pm in the area surrounding the airport's General Aviation Terminal.

Organizers are looking for nonprofit organizations, local businesses, food vendors, crafters and others to fill the area between the General Aviation Terminal and commercial aviation hangar to create a festival-like environment.

Features of the event will include Aroostook County’s first ever plane parade, coordinated by pilots who fly for Angel Flight; scenic fall foliage flights over the Star City; a Life Flight helicopter fly-in; and demonstrations by TAMC’s Crown Critical Care Transport Team.

The event is being coordinated collaboratively by the Northern Maine Regional Airport/City of Presque Isle, Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce, and TAMC. Several businesses and organizations located on the Skyway Industrial Park, where the airport sits, along with public safety and other organizations are also involved in the planning and will take part on site.

TAMC will host 'Take Flight…with Good Health'. The health fair will be held on-site in the nearby large commercial aviation hangar. It will feature the region’s first free flu shot clinic of the season, and more than 40 health exhibits, including a number presented by Northern Maine Community College nursing students.

There is no cost for vendors to participate. For more information or to reserve space, call (207) 768-4044. Space will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
