Some grant money will be coming to Aroostook County to help purchase some new fire equipment. Chief Darren R. Woods stated that North Lakes Fire & Rescue has received notification of award of a FEMA Fire Grant.

Chief Darren R. Woods stated that North Lakes Fire & Rescue has received its fourth award for workplace safety from the Maine Bureau of Labor.

A snowmobile was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon in the Northern Maine town of Sinclair.

North Lakes Fire & Rescue has been awarded nearly $125,000 for operations and safety upgrades from FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
