This weekend, Big Country 96.9 broadcasted live from Heidi's Hope, part of the Aroostook Aspirations Initiative across the County.

Students participating in the first-of-its-kind Heidi’s Hope Serve-a-Thon on October 18 in Houlton are literally going to the dogs and reaching out to help other kids. The community has rallied around the Houlton Humane Society (HHS) and other community projects all for Heidi's Hope, an innovative way to connect kids and community.

Aroostook County— Northern Maine Community College will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month by hosting a fund-raising walk on October 8 at noon. This is the third year NMCC has held this public event which raises money for Pink Aroostook, a program that provides financial assistance and educational services to individuals in need who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
