The Boston Red Sox had just enough offense and the solid pitching of Rick Porcello to beat the Seattle Mariners 4-2 and get back in the win column.The two teams traded homeruns early in the game with David Ortiz and Pablo Sandoval going deep. After Brad Miller hit his second homerun of the game for Seattle the game was tied at 2 in the top of the 6th inning. Thats when catcher Blake Swihart stepped to the plate and ripped a 2-run double giving the Sox a 4-2 lead and the win.

Boston got another solid pitching performance as Rick Porcello went 6.2 innings allowing just 5 hits while striking out 6 and walking two. Porcello improves to 4-2 on the season and lowered his ERA to 4.26

The Sox are now 5-4 on this current 10-game road trip moving them into third place in the American League East just 3.5 games behind the Yankees. The road trip ends today as Steven Wright faces James Paxton in the series finale.
