Suspect in Carleton County Fire in Court to Face Murder Charges
A 25-year-old man will appear in Woodstock Provincial Court on Friday to face charges in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was discovered in her burned home earlier this week.
Emergency crews were called to a fire at a home in Peel, just north of Hartland, at about 4:45 a.m. Monday morning. The home was completely engulfed in flames when Hartland firefighters arrived.
The body of 52-year-old Phyllis Roy was discovered inside the burned home, according to a statement from New Brunswick RCMP.
The name of the accused and the charges will be made public in court.
The investigation is continuing.
