It's friggin' cold outside and I can't help but think back to the great summer we had.  If you're like me and longing for a summer adventure, maybe these guys will pull us through what seems like is going to be a long, cold winter.

Here's a great self-filmed documentary of your everyman here in the state of Maine- gettin' ready for an adventure.  These guys, the Adventure Guides, remind me of my camping crew!

They started their adventure in a conversion van in New Hampshire for a 10 day odyssey through Maine's Allagash, where they will canoe, motor and paddle their way through the secluded and, at times, dangerous waterway.  This trip has been 3 years in the making for them.

At one point, we see the guys going up Golden Road in Millinocket ('Knockit, for you locals) and seeing Mt. Katahdin.

Not only is it a cool adventure but this crew is sooo relateable and funny.

Our real-life cast of characters include:

  • Jimmy: Our handsome, bro host
  • Dave: He has a beard and doesn't like getting out of bed
  • Jacob: Kinda looks like a pirate
  • Ike: Doesn't need sleep
  • Bone: Redneck badass coordinator
  • Scout: Beady eyes
  • Cody/Texas(?): A guy with a beard, might not like Doritos

Kick some ass in the Allagash- You have to see this!

Be warned they have the mouths and hand gestures of honest Mainers.

The video was published by Jimmy Austin and is described as the first in a series:

The Allagash is one of the world's greatest waterways for outdoor adventure seekers. It's so secluded and serene that National Geographic named it on of the best American Adventures.
