State Police Investigating Fatal Shooting in Wilton

State Police say a man shot and killed early Wednesday morning in Wilton has been identified.

The victim was 24 year old Michael Reis from New Sharon.  An autopsy is now underway at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta.  The shooting took place outside a mobile home at 259 Weld Road  about 1 am. Detectives have identified the shooter, but his name is not being released at this time.  The man is cooperating with police.

Detectives said several people were at the mobile home when the shooting took place and detectives plan to conduct a number of interviews to determine the circumstances of the shooting.

Many of those interviews were taking place at the near-by Farmington Police Department.
