Police say the crash took place about 3:30 pm on the Sennebec Road. Corporal Jeremy Wesbrock was responding to a motor vehicle crash in Searsmont and was operating his cruiser with emergency lights and siren. Wesbrock was attempting to pass a car operated by 52-year-old Lisa Ford of Appleton, just as Ford was making a left turn into her driveway. The cruiser sideswiped Ford's car and both vehicles ended up off the road against small trees.

Wesbrock and Ford were transported to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport with minor injuries. Appleton Fire Department personnel and Union EMS assisted at the scene.

The original crash in Searsmont that Wesbrock was responding to was covered by other troopers.  The driver of a tractor trailer truck escaped injury when his load of lumber shifted and his truck rolled on its side on Sennebec Road. The Plumley Trucking Co. truck, with South Carolina license plates, came to rest against a utility pole.
