It's always nice when a team is able to get a win all the while knowing they have to improve their game. That was the case in the Bruins 3-2 win over Columbus.

After a scoreless first period the Bruins exploded for 2 goals early in the second from Ryan Spooner and Brad Marchand.

That's when Boston reverted to their inability to close out games as they allowed the Blue Jackets to score twice and tie the game in the third period.

Neither team could come up with a goal in overtime so it went to a shootout where the Bruins quickly took care of business. Ryan Spooner was the first shooter and put the puck in the top right corner which turned out to be the only goal needed in shootout. Torey Krug added another to end the game and give the Bruins their 25th win of the season.

Boston will go on the road Monday for a game at Philadelphia.
