Bangor pro golfer Jesse Speirs now knows he will be back on the PGA Web.com Tour in 2017. He has earned playing status through two stages of the 'Q-School' and now will compete the final stage next month.

Making it through two stages gives him limited playing status for next year. If Speirs can finish high enough in the final round he can get full time status on next year's tour.

Speirs competed in 17 Web.com Tour tournaments this year and finished 160th on the money list.

His 6-under par through four rounds at the second stage tourney placed him in a tie for 18th place. The cut line was top 18 and ties.

The final stage of competition is December 8 - 11 at Winter Garden, Florida.

Speirs is a former Maine Junior Amateur champion and Maine State Amateur champion. He also won the 2011 Greater Bangor Open tourney.

NOTE: 2016 Greater Bangor Open Golf Tournament winner Jesse Larson(Mendon, Vt) also qualified for the Q-School final stage.
