Brock Holt was just what the doctor ordered as the Red Sox utility man hit for the cycle and in the process helped Boston snap a 7 game losing streak with a 9-4 win over Atlanta.Holt was hitting in the leadoff spot for Dustin Pedroia who has a sore knee. In the first inning Holt doubled and followed that up with a single in the 5th, a homerun in the 7th and finished off the cycle with a triple in the bottom of the 8th.

Holt becomes the first Red Sox player to hit for the cycle since John Valentin accomplished the feat in 1996.

Wade Miley got the win on the mound by pitching into the 7th inning striking out 8 and allowing just 5 hits. The two teams now go to Atlanta to play a pair of games on Wednesday and Thursday.
