The Boston Red Sox wake up this Saturday and find themselves out of first place in the AL East for the first time since June 29th.

A 4-2 Friday night loss to Kansas City combined with a New York win means the Yanks take over first place by a half game.

Rick Porcello, stepping in to replace the injured David Price in the rotation, pitched ok but made in big mistake - to Mike Moustakas and it ended up being a 3-run home run.

He worked seven innings giving up four runs, six hits and a walk. His record is now 4-14.

A big part of the Sox slump continues to be lack of offense. Newly acquired Eduardo Nunez had two hits and rookie Rafael Devers had a double but the Sox managed just seven hits all night.

The Sox drop to 56-48.
