The finale of the three game set between the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh Pirates has been postponed due to weather in the Boston area, while the Portland Sea Dogs season opener is also on hold.

The two MLB teams played a 12 inning game last night which saw the Red Sox take the win with a three-run homer by catcher Sandy Leon.  The forecast for the city is rain and thunderstorms until 10 p.m. this evening, according to Weather.com.

The contest will now be slated for April 13th at 2:05 p.m., a scheduled off day for the Sox that is in between the Orioles and Rays series for Boston.  The Pirates will be wrapping a three game home series with the Reds before playing Boston and facing the Chicago Cubs the following day.

The Sea Dogs were slated to host the Reading Phillies at Hadlock Field at 6 p.m., but that contest is also now on hold after rain postponed the game.  The new home opener will be set for Friday night at 6 p.m..  The make-up date will May 5th and will be part of a single admission double header.
