Sox Bats Lift Team To 10-5 Win [VIDEO]

The Red Sox bats woke up and helped propel the team past the Los Angeles Angels in the series finale by a score of 10-5 on Sunday afternoon.

Boston exploded for a seven run fifth inning, spearheaded by three RBI doubles by David Ortiz, Hanley Ramirez, and Sandy Leon.  The Sox would tack on another three insurance runs in the seventh to ease into an easy victory in the rubber game of the series.  Boston would double the run output from the first two games of the series and then some on way to giving starter Sean O’Sullivan his second win of the year.  O’Sullivan went five innings and allowed just two runs.

Even better news for the Sox came from Seattle as the Mariners wrapped up a 9-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles and Boston pulled within three games of the top spot in the AL East.  The Sox are now 44-37 on the season and are in the top spot in the AL Wild Card race.

Boston will begin a three game set with the Texas Rangers tomorrow afternoon with Rick Porcello getting the nod against Nick Martinez.
