The State Fire Marshal's Office said that a couple from Solon have been arrested and charged with arson in connection with a van fire during the summer.

Fire investigators, who were assisted by the Somerset Sheriff's Deputies say that the woman paid the man to torch her 2002 Dodge Caravan, so she could collect insurance proceeds.

The alleged suspects, who were arrested in Bingham, 30-year-old Jennifer Sandoval and 24-year-old Anthony Salisbury, both from Solon, are being held at the Somerset County Jail.

The two are being charged with arson, conspiracy to commit arson and insurance fraud.

Sandoval was arrested on Friday and Salisbury was arrested today.

Investigators say that Sandoval paid Salisbury $300 to burn the van and she collected $2,200 in insurance proceeds.

The van was destroyed in the fire on July 24 on the Brighton Road in Brigham.
