Soldier With Houlton Ties Dies in Afghanistan
U.S. Representative Michael Michaud says a Special Forces Soldier who was born in Houlton has died following injuries he sustained from an improvised explosive device while he was on patrol in Afghanistan.
Army SFC Aaron Henderson was wounded on Sunday, September 30th and died Monday at the hospital at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan.
SFC Henderson served with A Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and was born and raised in Houlton.
Michaud expressed his condolences and said " This tragedy reminds us of the dangerous conditions so many deployed Americans continue to operate under overseas. I know the greater Houlton community and the entire State of Maine will come together to offer support to SFC Henderson's family during this incredibly difficult time. "
My thoughts and prayers are also with the Henderson family during this tragic time.
