Snow Covered Road a Factor in Rollover Crash in Monticello

A Houlton woman escaped injury after a rollover crash late Monday morning on Route 1 in Monticello.

State Police say 19-year-old Christiana Marcus was driving south at approximately 11:38 a.m. when she attempted to pass a tractor trailer just as she reached the double lane leaving Monticello.  Marcus lost control of her 2003 Toyota on the slippery roadway and struck the snow bank causing her car to roll over onto its roof. Police say she was not injured in the crash.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and Monticello Fire Department.  Sgt. Josh Haines says Marcus was wearing her seat belt.
